Kodagu police registers 16 FIRs against DJ music violations in Virajpet

The Kodagu district police has registered a total of 16 FIRs against persons responsible for violation of rules governing sound pollution by DJ music accompanying Ganesh idol immersion processions in Virajpet.

Cases have been booked against DJ music equipment owners, operators, technicians, and vehicle drivers in the regard.

A statement from Superintendent of Kodagu district police K. Ramarajan said the provisions of Section 15 of the Environment Protection Act 1986 will be invoked against the accused after a report from the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) is received.

The Kodagu district police has cracked the whip against loud DJ music during the Ganesha festival, and warned that persons responsible for violating the legally permissible noise limit will face strict action.
