Guwahati: The Purvottar Janajati Shiksha Samiti on Wednesday announced that the prestigious Krishna Chandra Gandhi Award 2025 will be conferred upon the Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma Trust, Kokrajhar, in recognition of its outstanding contribution to educational upliftment and socio-economic development among tribal communities in northeast.The award ceremony will be held on Nov 15 at the Nilkamal Brahma Auditorium of Science College, Kokrajhar, coinciding with the celebration of Janajatiya Gaurav Diwas, a day dedicated to honouring tribal pride and heritage.The announcement was made at an event attended by Brahmaji Rao, all India secretary and tribal education in-charge of Vidya Bharati, Basant Agarwal, president of PJSS, and Abhijit Payeng, secretary of PJSS. Instituted in 2007, the award is presented annually to individuals or organisations working tirelessly for tribal education and social development. TNN
