National Commission for Women (NCW) member Archana Majumdar on Sunday claimed that she was not allowed to meet the Kolkata law college student who was allegedly gang-raped. She also cited “non-cooperation" and added that when she talked to the victim’s parents on Saturday night, they were tense, but they did not pick up her call today.

“Yesterday till mid night I spoke to victim parents. I told them that will come and meet . They were very tensed and wanted cooperation. Today in the morning when we tried to reach them , the my did not pick the phone. When I asked police they said they don’t know . When I asked SP Bauruipur , he said their house under lock and key," she said.

“I visited thana they cooperated but pace of occurrence was sealed they did not allow me to record . They said if we record they will seize . How is that possible. I’m going to Delhi , will discuss and give report . We are disappointed," she added.

Meanwhile, at the same time the father of the victim spoke to the media and expressed faith in the judiciary.

“…I have faith in the Kolkata Police as well as the judiciary of India. Whatever they conclude after the full investigation will be accepted," he told IANS.
