Kolkata Woman Alleges Molestation At Nightclub, Names 2012 Park Street Case Accused In FIR

A woman in Kolkata has accused Nasir Khan, previously convicted in the 2012 Park Street gang rape case, of physically assaulting and sexually abusing her at a nightclub.

A woman in Kolkata has alleged she was physically assaulted and sexually abused at a nightclub at a five-star hotel in the city. In her complaint, the woman named Nasir Khan, previously convicted in the 2012 Park Street gang rape case as one of the accused.

According to India Today, the incident happened on October 26, while the woman was at the nightclub with her husband, brother, and friends.

Police sources told CNN-News18 that the woman and her family had come to the restaurant for a business meeting and were sitting at the same table as the accused.

Later, an argument broke out between them, following which the woman lodged a complaint at the South Police Station against Nasir Khan and Juned Khan.

She identified the other group as Nasir Khan, Juned Khan, and their associates, claiming that Nasir Khan, who had earlier served a prison term in a gang rape case before being released in 2020, was among those who attacked her and tried to touch her inappropriately.

Police sources said that the parties involved were acquainted with each other from before, and the entire incident is currently under investigation.

Whether the person in question was Nasir Khan was also being investigated.

The woman also accused the other group of attacking them with glass bottles, and later calling an additional 20 people to join the attack, the India Today report claimed.

She alleged that she dialled the emergency police number for help. However, her family was forced to take shelter inside the club’s liquor room as the doors of the club were locked.

“They attacked us with bottles and tried to touch me inappropriately," the report quoted the complaint by the woman.

“We immediately lodged an FIR soon after getting the complaint from the lady. During the investigation, our team gathered CCTV footage from the club which is being examined. The statement of the victim has also been recorded. Investigation is underway, we are probing every aspect with priority," it quoted Bidhannagar Police Commissioner Mukesh Kumar as saying.

Meanwhile, an FIR was registered under Sections 126(2), 115(2), 117(2), 351(2), 3(5), and 74 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and any arrests in the case were yet to be made.
