Kopparthi gets ready for Deeni Ijtema

The three-day ‘Deeni Ijtema 2026’ event will be conducted at Kopparthi village of Kamalapuram constituency in Kadapa district from January 23.

Minister for Minorities Welfare, Law and Justice N. Md. Farook reviewed the arrangements made at the Kopparthi industrial node, which is the venue for the event, along with Minister for BC Welfare, Handloom and Textiles S. Savitha (also district in-charge Minister), Minister for Transport Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy, Collector Sridhar Cherukuri and Superintendent of Police Nachiket Vishwanath Shelke on Tuesday.

Mr. Farook said over one lakh members of Muslim community would gather from across India for the event and elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure the conduct of the event in a hassle-free manner.

The Kopparthi venue has been developed with makeshift toilets, parking lots, temporary hospital and first-aid centres and others, to meet the inflow of a huge crowd. Similarly, elaborate security arrangements have also been made to ensure order, Ms. Savitha told the media later.
