KSRTC daily collection touches record ₹10.19 cr.

The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) netted a revenue of ₹10.19 crore on September 8, which is a record for one-day collection.

The previous highest operating revenue for a day was ₹9.22 crore clocked on December 23, 2024 during the Sabarimala pilgrimage season.

On September 8, 4,607 buses were operated with the utility ferrying 24.94 lakh passengers, covering a distance of 15.71 lakh km. Last year, the KSRTC operated 4,331 buses to net the previous record Onam revenue of ₹8.29 crore, transporting 20.18 lakh passengers and covering 15.31 lakh km. 

During the Sabarimala pilgrimage season last year, 4,567 buses were pressed into service to get the record collection of ₹9.22 crore on December 23, transporting 23.41 lakh passengers and covering 15.56 lakh km. The target of over ₹10 crore daily revenue was realised through the coordinated efforts of employees, supervisors, and officers, said a statement from the office of Transport Minister K.B. Ganesh Kumar here on Tuesday.

The reform measures implemented by the management, along with the introduction of new buses and qualitative changes brought into services, contributed to the improved performance of the transport utility.
