Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president and former minister K.T. Rama Rao has condemned Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud’s allegations against BRS leaders pertaining to phone tapping case and has issued a legal notice to him on Wednesday (June 18, 2025). Accusing the Congress government led by A. Revanth Reddy of making a fuss without evidence, he claimed that the case was a mere attempt to divert public attention from their inability to fulfill poll promises.
“Such disgraceful and unfounded accusations against me and other leaders of our party, without a shred of evidence, are highly condemnable,” he said, demanding that Mr. Goud immediately tender an unconditional public apology. He also added that his party cadre would not remain silent if such defamatory statements continued.
KTR accused the Congress leadership of displaying an undemocratic attitude since the party attained power in the State. He alleged that the Congress government had revived the phone tapping issue with the malicious intention of misleading voters in the upcoming local body elections. He said that the case would yield nothing and that it was clear that both the Chief Minister and the PCC President were competing in a race of lies.
The former minister further warned that leaders like Mahesh Kumar would be held accountable in court for their “irresponsible comments”.
