The 4th Telangana State Conference of the Communist Party of India (CPI) concluded with Kothagudem MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao elected as secretary for a three-year term yet again.
The three-day conference, which began on August 20 saw serious discussions on national and State issues and vibrant participation of delegates who vowed to continue the legacy of movements.
The conference was inaugurated by CPI National general secretary D. Raja, who outlined global and national political conditions and the people’s movements to be taken up. CPI(M) Telangana secretary John Wesley and CPI Andhra Pradesh secretary K. Ramakrishna conveyed solidarity messages.
CPI national secretaries K. Narayana and Syed Aziz Pasha spoke on national and international political developments. A total of 727 delegates from across Telangana participated. CPI State secretary Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao presented the political and organisational report.
The conference also passed 42 resolutions on political, social, and economic issues concerning various sections of society. On the sidelines, Nava Chetana Publishing House organised a book exhibition at the conference venue. D. Raja keenly browsed through several books, with CPI National Council member K. Srinivasa Reddy explaining the details of the publications.
