Lights, camera, action! Kunchacko Boban and Lijomol Jose are diving into the deep end with their latest film, a psychological thriller penned by the inventive Shahi Kabir. This marks the inaugural directorial journey of Kiran Das and is centered around police drama that intertwines suspense and intrigue.
The cameras have started rolling for Kunchacko Boban and Lijomol Jose’s latest film which is penned by acclaimed writer-filmmaker Shahi Kabir.The yet-to-be-titled project marks the directorial debut of celebrated editor Kiran Das who is best known for his work on 'Joseph' and 'Nayattu'.
The film officially began production on Tuesday with a traditional pooja ceremony.
A psychological thriller in familiar territory
Described as a psychological thriller, the film is said to stay true to Shahi Kabir’s forte—stories rooted in law enforcement and human complexity. The movie will be revolving around a police-centric narrative as we have seen in majority of the other Shahi Kabir's film as earlier the makers had shared a casting call inviting Palakkad based policmen who has passion for acting.
A strong technical crew
The film’s technical crew has the cinematographer Arjun Sethu, music composer Justin Varghese, and production designer Dileep Nath. Alongside Kunchacko and Lijomol, the ensemble cast includes Sudheesh, Unni Lalu, Nithin George, Kiran Peethambaran, Jolly Chirayath, Thankam Mohan, Sreekanth Murali, Shaju Sreedhar, Krishnapraba, Sibi Thomas, Sabumon, Arun Cherukavil, Vineeth Thattil,, and Ganga Meera.
Kunchacko Boban's upcoming films
Meanwhile, Kunchacko Boban’s upcoming slate continues to be one of the most exciting in Malayalam cinema. His next release, 'Oru Durooha Saahacharyathil', reuniting him with 'Nna Thaan Case Kodu' director Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval, also features Dileesh Pothan, Sajin Gopu, and Chidambaram. Recently the makers had shared an intriguing first look poster for the movie.He is further set to appear in Mahesh Narayanan’s 'Patriot' - the highly awaited upcoming movie that brings together the superstar Mammootty and Mohanlal after a long gap. 'Patriot' will also feature Fahadh Faasil, Nayanthara, Darshana Rajendran and Revathi in pivotal roles. The movie is touted to be an intense action flick and the expectations are quite high.
