Kurnool Collector inspects mid-day meal kitchens at mandal schools

District Collector Dr. A. Siri on Tuesday (October 28, 2025) visited government schools, secretariats, and also interacted with farmers during her tour of mandals. She conducted a surprise visit to Kodumur Zilla Parishad High School for Girls and inspected the kitchen and asked the principal to ensure that prescribed menu was followed and quality and tasty food is served to the students.

Ms. Siri interacted with the students in English and asked some of them to improve their skills. She also enquired if they were able to follow what the teachers were teaching during classes. Later, speaking with the teachers, the Collector asked them to impart quality education to students. When the teachers raised the issue of water shortage, Ms. Siri said that a borewell would be dug up within a week.

In Ratana village of Tuggili mandal, Ms. Siri interacted with onion farmers who were grading their crop and asked them to upload their crop details on “e-crop” to get insurance in case of loss and also to get various government benefits and schemes.

In the same village, Ms. Siri visited the Residential School for Tribal Girls and inspected the kitchen. She tasted rice, dal and cabbage curry cooked for students and expressed satisfaction over the taste.

The teachers sought running tap facility in the bathrooms, increase of height of compound wall, solution to overflowing drains during rains and also a watchman and an ANM. Th Collector assured to resolve the issues.

In Pathikonda mandal headquarters, Ms. Siri visited the village secretariat-3 and asked the staff to provide all government services to the people in a transparent manner.

She also visited Kothiralla village in Pathikonda mandal where she interacted with the farmers and encouraged them to cultivate two or three different crops, instead of a single crop.
