Kush Maini will continue with Mahindra Racing as the team’s official reserve driver for the upcoming Formula E Season 12. The Indian driver has been part of the Mahindra family for two years and will once again support the main drivers, Nyck de Vries and Edoardo Mortara.

Mahindra announced the news on Instagram, saying, “Ready to represent India on the world stage. Welcoming @kmainiofficial back to the team as our reserve driver for Season 12!” The post confirmed Maini’s continued role as one of India’s leading faces in electric motorsport.

Kush Maini continues his Formula E journey with Mahindra

Kush Maini first joined Mahindra Racing as a reserve driver in Season 10. Since then, he has been part of the team’s rookie tests and free practice sessions.

He drove for Mahindra at the Berlin Rookie Test in 2024, the Rookie Free Practice in Jeddah in 2025, and again at Berlin in 2025.

In Jeddah earlier this year, Maini showed great speed by topping the timesheets in the Rookie Free Practice session. At the Berlin Rookie Test 2025, he finished second in the morning and third in the afternoon sessions. These strong runs proved his growing pace and control in the Mahindra M11 Electro car.

Kush Maini’s reserve duties include simulator work, test sessions, and being ready to step in if needed. His role is key in helping Mahindra prepare for the new Formula E season.

His experience and results have made him an important part of the team’s future. Mahindra has trusted him since his debut with the team, and this new season shows their faith in his progress and potential.

Kush Maini’s Formula 2 career and future plans

Kush Maini also races full-time in Formula 2. He drives for DAMS and competes alongside Andretti reserve driver Jak Crawford.

Maini is currently 15th in the 2025 F2 standings. His biggest highlight came with a win in the Monaco Sprint Race, where he led from start to finish.
