Barca, who clinched the Spanish top-flight title in the 2024/25 season played their home games at the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium during work on Camp Nou.

La Liga champions Barcelona announced August 10 as the date they are set to move back to their traditional home of Camp Nou, with an exhibition game, after renovation of the fabled stadium in Catalunya.

However, the Joan Gamper Trophy pre-season game will only mark the partial reopening of the stadium, which will continue to be rennovated in multiple areas, with the completion of the stadium slated to be in the summer of 2026.

Barca, who clinched the Spanish top-flight title in the year 2024/25, played their home games at the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium during work on Camp Nou.

“Barcelona takes a symbolic and emotional step into the future, reclaiming its home in a new era that will culminate with the complete inauguration of the new stadium," the club said.

Barcelona dethroned arch-rivals Real Madrid in the Spanish top-flight as the Catalan giants registered 88 points in their 38 outings this season, winning 28 times, drawing four games and losing just six times. Real Madrid finished four points adrift of he Blaugrana, while Atletico Madrid came in third with 76 points to their name.

Barcelona’s star winger Raphinha was named La Liga Player of the Year, while teammate Lamine Yamal claimed the Best Young Player award in a season where Barcelona clinched a domestic treble, winning La Liga, the Copa Del Rey, and the Supercopa de España.

The Brazilian scored 18 times in the Spanish top-flight this season while also providing 9 assists. The 28-year-old also netted an impressive 13 times in 14 UEFA Champions League fixtures this season, along with nine assists.

Spanish star Yamal entered the season following a successful Euro campaign, where he led La Roja to the UEFA title, and continued his remarkable form with standout performances across competitions for the Catalan club.

Yamal scored 9 goals and provided 15 assists in Hansi Flick’s debut campaign, adding to the Blaugrana’s decorated trophy cabinet. The teenager also found the net five times and set up another 4 goals in the UCL, before the Spanish giants were dramatically ousted by Inter Milan.
