Las Vegas police are investigating a delivery sent to a tech CEO in Las Vegas. According to KLAS 8 News Now, Blake Owens, CEO of Agrippa, an AI-powered platform, received a bloodied pig’s head and an anonymous letter criticising his work with artificial intelligence in real estate.
Talking to the publication, Owens said the package arrived on July 29, and appeared to be a reaction to an interview he gave in June about using AI to assist in a real estate deal.
“Perhaps this person watched too much of The Godfather," Owens said.
“Needless to say, I still take it very seriously, but don’t feel like I’m being truly threatened. It was a message," he added.
The letter, signed only with the initial “M," argued that “AI is not going to replace brokers" and slammed Owens’s understanding of the industry.
Meanwhile, Owens said he believed the sender may be worried about losing their job to AI, but stressed his goal is to help professionals adapt to new tools, not replace them.
Despite the gory delivery, Owens expressed no ill will toward the sender, the report claimed.
“I don’t want to punch down on this person, they may be in a tough spot in life," he said.
“You don’t become a better person by making another man a lesser person," he added.
