The last rites of Army Major T.S.T. Bharadwaj, who died during a combat training exercise at a military base in Rajasthan on Tuesday (October 14, 2025), were performed with full military honours in Guntur on Wednesday (October 15, 2025). Bharadwaj was a native of the Sangadigunta area in Guntur.

The funeral was attended by civil and police officials, and public representatives. District Collector A. Thameem Ansariya, MLAs Mohammad Naseer and Galla Madhavi, and Municipal Commissioner Puli Srinivasulu paid their last respects to the mortal remains of the Major and expressed condolences to the bereaved family.

Earlier in the day, Guntur Superintendent of Police Vakul Jindal led the police contingent in paying homage to the Major. He described Major Bharadwaj as an inspiration to the nation, praising his courage, discipline, and devotion to duty.

“Major Bharadwaj’s sacrifice in the service of the nation will remain etched in our memory forever,” the SP said, extending his deep sympathies to the officer’s father Upendra Kumar and other family members.

The SP, municipal officials, MLAs, and police personnel also joined the funeral.
