Leaders express shock over air crash

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, and leaders across parties, including BJP State president B.Y. Vijayendra and JD(S) leader and Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, on Thursday expressed shock over the Air India plane crash near Ahmedabad airport and described it as a tragic and unfortunate incident.

In a social media post on X, Mr. Siddaramaiah said: “Deeply shocked to learn that an Air India flight with over 200 passengers has met with an accident in Ahmedabad, Gujarat” He hoped that all those affected receive timely help and care.

Mr. Shivakumar also expressed condolences to the victims of the crash in a post on X. Mr. Vijayendra said he was “deeply shocked and pained by the tragic Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad.” Mr. Kumaraswamy, on his social media handle, said: “The crash of Air India flight AI-171, which was en route from Ahmedabad to London, has left me deeply shocked and disturbed.”
