The AIADMK on Friday announced that leaders of its allies would take part in different places of the State in demonstrations to be organised on March 17 against the “failure” of the DMK government on a variety of matters including law and order.
The AIADMK’s general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami would lead the stir in Chennai; State president of the BJP, Nainar Nagenthiran, in Madurai; former president of the national party, K. Annamalai, in Coimbatore; another former chief, Tamilisai Soundararajan in Tirunelveli; the national president of the Women’s wing of the BJP, Vanathi Srinivasan, in Tiurppur; PMK’s chief, R. Anbumani, in Cuddalore; general secretary of the Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam, T.T.V. Dhinakaran, in Thanjavur and the president of the Tamil Maanila Congress (Moopanar) G.K. Vasan in Erode, according to a party release.
In another release, Mr Palaniswami criticised the DMK government for opening five veterinary hospitals “in haste,” when the term of the regime was about to end. He also referred to reports of the government trying to give clearance to many private veterinary hospitals even though Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, according to the AIADMK leader, did not open even a single veterinary subcentre in the last five years.
