During the recent episode of the widely watched podcast Mind the Game, LeBron James and Steve Nash spoke to Timothee Chalamet about multiple things. From his Academy Award-nominated project Marty Supreme to one of his oldest memories of watching LeBron James in action. In between the conversation, the Dune actor revealed his interest in playing LeBron James in the NBA icon’s biopic. Chalamet said,

“In fact, I'll ask you who you guys want to play you."

To which Steve Nash responded, “I felt like I think there's only one person on the stage you could play personally. I don't know. I don't know. Let's work on the script, man.” LeBron James gave a funny reality check to the talented actor by responding that he would perfectly fit into the shoes of the NBA icon dating back to his second grade. The 4-time NBA champion said, “Well, if it started in, like, LeBron in second grade, you know, when my career started, hey, man, I'll do it, man.

Then LeBron was 5'10 in second grade. Um, and he was white. No, I'm kidding.”In Marty Supreme, Timothee Chalamet’s character Marty Mauser is inspired by the real-life story of ping pong star Marty Reisman. The Academy Award-nominated movie is set in the 1950s and spirals around the struggles of a shoe salesman’s love for table tennis and how it leads him towards the world map. This is not the first time Chalamet has been doing a biopic. Reportedly, in 2024, he played the role of iconic American singer-songwriter, poet, and artist Bob Dylan in James Mangold-directed A Complete Unknown.
