Legal battle between Min Hee Jin and BTS’s management company continues, new allegations come to light - Report

Min Hee Jin, former CEO of New Jeans’ management agency, has been in a legal battle with the parent company. Alleging wrongful termination of employment, amongst other things, the case has been going on for quite some time now.

A second court hearing was held for their case on September 11, which brought forth new allegations to light.

Min Hee Jin accused of chart manipulation

As per reports from Chosun Ilbo, the management company, which is responsible for names such as BTS and TXT, had alleged that Min Hee Jin was involved in chart manipulation activities. The Chief Legal Officer of the company, Jung Jin Soo, shared a statement about how Hee Jin had been planning chart manipulation activities as well as ‘public opinion fight’ against the two K-pop girl groups LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT (before their debut).

The company also did an audit on Hee Jin’s former agency, and cited documents labeled as ‘Project 1945’ as proof of the same. There are allegations of deterring public opinion about the group online by using terms such as ‘employee controversies’ and ‘imitation of New Jeans’ online. It was cited during the trial that Min Hee Jin met with the parents of New Jeans members on March 29, 2024, where further planning of such events also took place.

Min Hee Jin shares new allegations

According to SpotTV News, Min Hee Jin also issued allegations against the company, specifically citing that they had prioritized ILLIT’s sales and promotions over New Jeans’. She stated, “If you push even a single album, it is still pushing,” Min explained. “The reason it is called pushing is that albums are sent out to distributors to secure first-week sales records. If there is concern that another team will not be able to break a record within a week, then bulk buying is done, which is what we call pushing”.During the trial, Hee Jin also shared that the company had allegedly made false claims of trying to resolve matters with her, while keeping the non-compete clause active.
