Leopard skin seized in Keonjhar, 1 arrested

Keonjhar: A leopard skin was seized from Judia Ghati near Munda Sahi in Keonjhar range, divisional forest officer HD Dhanaraj confirmed the seizure in a press release issued today.A joint team of forest and police personnel conducted a decoy operation and arrested Rabindra Tudu (25), of Asanbani, Patna, who was in illegal possession of the leopard skin.Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Manua Hembram (40), the brother-in-law of the first accused, from Judia Munda Sahi in Keonjhar town. He was allegedly involved in the possession and attempted trade of the wildlife article.A forensic examination of Hembram’s mobile phone revealed several video clips showing the weighing of elephant tusks for sale. These clips have been seized.
