Leopardess found dead

A leopardess is suspected to have died after coming into contact with a power line near Coonoor forest range on Friday. The Forest Department stated that the carcass of the leopard was found near the Rose Valley tea factory between Vandisholai and Forest Dale in Coonoor. They said that a postmortem on the carcass was performed and the animal’s remains were destroyed. Investigations to ascertain the cause of death are ongoing.
