Delhi Blast News: Agencies trace key link between arrested suspects and foreign handler ‘Ukasa’

Investigators probing the Red Fort blast have uncovered a crucial foreign link connecting the arrested suspects to a handler based in Ankara, Turkey, police sources said. According to officials, the handler, operating under the codename “Ukasa”, maintained direct communication with the main accused, Dr Umar and his associates through Session, an encrypted messaging app known for its strong anonymity features.

Agencies believe “Ukasa” is a codename used to mask the handler’s true identity. His location has been traced to Ankara, where he is suspected of coordinating the group’s movements, funding, and radicalisation activities on behalf of a larger terror network. Read more

November 10, 2025: Blast near Red Fort Metro Gate No. 1 kills 12, injures several. The government terms the explosion a “terrorist incident.”

DNA evidence confirms that Dr Umar Nabi was driving the explosives-laden Hyundai i20. According to the sources, Umar likely planned the attack around the Babri Masjid demolition anniversary (Dec 6).

Dr Umar and Dr Muzammil are believed to be linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). Both met JeM overground workers during a 2021 trip to Turkey.

Handlers in Turkey guided the duo and other members of the “doctor module.” Suspects were radicalised via Telegram groups run by JeM operative Umar bin Khattab.

Muzammil’s phone data shows multiple reconnaissance visits to Red Fort in January. Initial plans for attacks around Republic Day and Diwali were dropped.

JeM’s ‘white collar’ terror module traced to Al Falah University, Faridabad. Dr Shaheen Sayeed and others from Al Falah linked to the module. Al Falah University distances itself from the accused, condemns the incident.

Hours before the blast, over 2,500 kg of ammonium nitrate, potassium chlorate and sulphur recovered in nationwide raids. Total 2,900 kg of explosives seized, including 360 kg from Muzammil’s house.

Umar reportedly panicked after TV reports of the explosives' seizure. Umar took shelter in a mosque for three hours before the blast. Blast occurred after Umar drove out. According to the reports, VBIED was incomplete when it exploded.

Dr Umar’s second car, a red Ford EcoSport was traced and seized in Faridabad’s Khandawali area.

PM Modi visits LNJP Hospital, meets survivors and vows justice. The Union Cabinet holds an emergency meeting and declares the blast a terror attack. Cabinet observes a two-minute silence for victims; directs swift investigation.
