JDU leader and sitting Bhagalpur MP, Ajay Mandal, submitted a letter to Nitish Kumar, offering to resign from his parliamentary seat. 

Ajay Mandal expressed his dissatisfaction with the selection of candidates for the Assembly elections, citing being overlooked in the process in the Bhagalpur Lok Sabha constituency.

Security outside Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's official residence in Patna was tightened on Tuesday after several leaders and workers of Janata Dal (United) gathered to protest after being denied tickets for the upcoming Assembly elections.

Police and security personnel cordoned off the area outside the residence with ropes, controlling the inflow of protesters. Despite the restrictions, several leaders and party workers continued to gather, staging sit-ins outside the Chief Minister's home.
