As reported by Sacnilk, after seven days, the film has collected Rs 46 crore in India, inching closer to the Rs 50 crore mark.

If the current pace continues, it will soon enter the Rs 50 crore club.

Controversy emerges over offensive dialogue

Amidst its successful run, the film faced controversy over a dialogue that upset Kannadigas.

Many felt it was offensive, prompting the makers to respond quickly.On Tuesday, the production house issued a statement, “It has come to our attention that a dialogue delivered by one of the characters in our film 'Lokah: Chapter One' has unintentionally hurt the sentiments of people from Karnataka.”The statement added, “..we place people above everything else. We deeply regret this oversight and assure you that no offence was intended.

The dialogue in question will be removed/edited at the earliest. We sincerely apologise for the hurt caused and humbly request you to accept our apology."


What is the storyline of 'Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra'?

The film tells the story of Chandra, a yakshi (vampire) played by Kalyani Priyadarshan. She is summoned by Moothon, the leader of a group of superheroes, voiced by Mammootty. Travelling from Sweden to Bengaluru for her mission, Chandra’s arrival changes everything.
