Superhero film 'Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra' is basking in success, collecting big numbers at the box office. The film stars Kalyani Priyadarshan as the lead and was backed by actor Dulquer Salmaan. During the interview, a reporter asked the 42-year-old actor about his father, Mammootty. Dulquer replied, "Let's talk about the movie, he's fine."
'Lokah' enters 100 crore club
Directed by Dominic Arun, the film became a major box office success.
Made on a modest budget of Rs 30 crore, the film crossed the Rs 100 crore mark domestically in India.
About the film
The movie is about a mysterious woman, Chandra Ananya, who has been summoned by an agent of a shadowy figure named Moothon who can take control of superpowered beings all over the world. The film also stars Naslen K. Gafoor, Sandy Master, Arun Kurian, and Vijayaraghavan in pivotal roles. Etimes reviewed the film, "Lokah is more about gradual but consistent world-building rather than instant payoffs. It lays the groundwork for a superhero cinematic universe in Malayalam cinema, and it does that with sincerity."
Speaking of Dulquer Salmaan's upcoming films, he is currently on a project tentatively named 'DQ41'. It is expected to be a pan-Indian romantic drama. Directed by debutant filmmaker Ravi Nelakuditi, the makers recently made an official announcement that Pooja Hegde is playing the female lead opposite him.On the other hand, Mammootty is preparing to resume shooting for Mahesh Narayanan's highly anticipated film 'Patriot', in which he stars alongside Mohanlal.
