As fans debate which film will emerge victorious, Kalyani Priyadarshan took to Instagram to share a picture with Malayalam cinema legend Mohanlal.

In an interview with OTT Play, the actress reflected on the pressures surrounding box-office numbers and how art is often reduced to competition.

“In our culture, we’re raised to compete—it’s always about being Number 1 or nothing at all. But art isn’t like that; it touches people in different ways. It’s sad that we try to confine it to numbers. Honestly, I don’t get how you can measure a film’s success like that. The whole idea of an ‘Onam winner’ just baffles me, and I don’t think I’ll ever fully make sense of it.
