Reinforcing the Telugu Desam Party’s (TDP) commitment to its grassroots cadre, its national general secretary and HRD Minister N. Lokesh met Sheikh Allah Baksh, a senior party activist from Armenipadu village of Sullurpet constituency in Tirupati district on Tuesday, and extended his personal support to the family.
Mr. Lokesh, who had been actively engaging with loyal TDP workers who stood by the party during the previous YSRCP regime, had earlier hosted Mr. Baksh and his family at his residence in Undavalli.
During that meeting, Mr. Lokesh enquired about their well-being and listened to their concerns, particularly the education of Mr. Baksh’s two daughters and the long-pending land issue involving property listed under prohibited list.
Recognising the family’s more than four decades of service to the party, Mr. Lokesh said, “It is because of steadfast workers like you that the party withstood adversity. Your sacrifices will never be forgotten.”
Mr. Lokesh assured the family that he would personally bear the educational expenses of Mr. Baksh’s daughters. He also promised to address the land issue at the earliest. Mr. Lokesh said members of the minority community would be prioritised in nominated posts.
The meeting left the Mr. Baksh family visibly emotional. They expressed their heartfelt gratitude, stating that they were honoured by the Minister’s visit and support, a press release said.
