Los Angeles Lakers coach claims Luka Doncic and LeBron James have improved in each other’s company: “I think it’s two-way motivating”

Luka Doncic couldn’t stop Slovenia from taking a defeat at the hands of France in the EuroBasket recently, but there is still good news for Doncic’s fans. The Los Angeles point guard was allowed to play for his national team only on the condition that he was accompanied by a team coach.

Now, the coach has revealed that Doncic has shown a great amount of improvement, especially in terms of physique, and that he and LeBron James inspire each other to work out and perform better.

Luka Doncic and LeBron James have bonded well ever since the former was unceremoniously traded from the Dallas Mavericks to the Los Angeles Lakers. Shedding light on how Doncic and James have learned from each other, Lakers assistant coach Greg St.

Jean told BasketNews, “Iron sharpens iron. When you’re around really good players, it’s just like when you’re a coach, and you’re around a really good coach. You can’t help but be motivated to continue to get better at your craft.

”He further said, “I think Luka’s learned a little bit from every great player he’s been around. And I know he’s always looked up to LeBron. He’s always been somebody he’s really admired. So I think having those two together is obviously motivating.”

He confirmed that James too has shown new energy after playing with Doncic. “I think it’s two-way motivating as well. I don’t think it’s just a one-way street. I think LeBron, you can see, is working really hard as well. He’s up at 5 a.m., and he’s working on his body as well. So, I think our team and our players — it’s not just about those two guys — but I think everybody’s motivated to come back and have a really good season,” St.

Jean said.

Coach Greg St. Jean also revealed that they have taken many positives from the tournament.
