TMZ Sports reports that Puka Nacua has been officially served with a lawsuit from his bite accuser during his rehab at the holistic care rehab facility in Malibu. Three process servers showed up at the facility, after they were probably tipped off on his “whereabouts from news coverage.”

The first server showed up at 2:50 PM on April 6. But an administrator refused to confirm or deny the Los Angeles Rams wide receiver’s presence due to HIPAA restrictions. On April 7, at noon, another server showed up who spoke to a woman at the facility. The woman told them to leave the area because they could not serve the documents there. On April 8, the serve came in contact with a nurse identified as “Jane Doe,” and a substitute serve was completed on behalf of Nacua. The Rams wideout checked into rehab to focus on “personal growth” in early March. On April 1, his attorney, Levi McCathern, said the rehab stint was meant to get him back to 100 percent before the 2026 season and “unrelated to the allegations.”

After three attempts, Puka Nacua was served with lawsuit. TMZ Sports was the first one to break the story: Madison Atiabi, the alleged victim, filed a civil lawsuit in late March, citing gender violence, assault and battery, and negligence.

She claims she suffered actual damage, including physical injury, pain and suffering, medical expenses, and severe emotional distress after a New Year’s Eve night out with Nacua. On Dec. 31, 2025, Nacua said, “F*** all the Jews” during dinner and later bit her left shoulder [scapula] with massive force. It left a circular imprint of his teeth on her shoulder. Atiabi shared a photo of the alleged injury in the lawsuit.

She filed an official police report with the LAPD on Jan. 2, 2026. “Puka denies these allegations in the strongest possible terms,” Nacua’s attorney Levi McCathern told TMZ after Atiabi filed the temporary restraining order in late March. “We will be filing a defamation lawsuit and pursuing all available legal remedies in response to these false and damaging statements.”

Puka Nacua reportedly accused after Jaxon Smith-Njigba’s record breaking contract news

The attorney claims the woman’s story is pure fiction and also has the video of the accuser “twerking and partying at a club” with Nacua in the background after the alleged incidents.

The attorney said the allegations were not a legitimate claim, but a “blackmail.”The timing of the allegations, three months after the alleged incident, came right after Seattle Seahawks’ WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba’s record-breaking contract as a wide receiver, which the attorney said, “further underscores the complete lack of credibility behind these accusations.” Smith-Njigba signed a four-year, $168.4M contract extension with Seattle on March 23, 2026. The accusation came sometime around that.
