M. Angamuthu, chairperson of the Mumbai Port Authority under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, assumed additional charge as chairperson of the Cochin Port Authority (CPA) on Monday.

The appointment comes after B. Kasiviswanathan, an Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers officer, returned to his parent cadre earlier this month.

A 2002-batch Indian Administrative Service officer of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre, Dr. Angamuthu has previously served as chairperson of the Visakhapatnam Port Authority and has also headed the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA). Since 2023, he has been serving as the chairperson of Dredging Corporation of India Limited.
