Channing Tatum recalls splitting up with Jenna Dewan
In a conversation with Variety, Tatum believed that his character, Jeffrey Manchester, went through similar repercussions of being estranged from his daughter, making for quite a therapeutic moment. Well, the actor did feel the same gutwrenching experience, and he understood the assignment well when he was handed the job. “I know for a fact I’m able to understand it. Jenna and I are good now, but it was a painful break to have that fall apart, especially being so young,” he said, adding that the former couple tried to be together and tried to rebuild the messy relationship for a year and a half – until they couldn’t.The difficult part of signing the divorce papers was his estrangement from his child, Everly (12). “But it’s really tough not to have your daughter half the time. I wish I could just have her all the time,” he continued. The couple officially broke apart in September 2024, six years after Dewan filed for divorce papers. While the messy bits were not shared publicly, the actor had accused his ex-wife of dragging the divorce case into multiple trials while he wanted to be out in one, according to TMZ.
