 Hawker attacks shop owner and employee in Ulhasnagar; dispute over parking space

ULHASNAGAR: A hawker and his associates attacked a shop owner and his employee following a minor dispute, leaving one person injured in Ulhasnagar. The incident occurred when the shop employee asked the hawker to move his handcart to make space for parking a scooter.According to the police, the complainant, Dharmraj Tiwari, was trying to park his employer Nikhil Budhrani’s Bajaj Chetak scooter. At the same spot, a hawker named Prem Gupta, who sells clay lamps, had parked his handcart. When Tiwari requested him to move it, Gupta became angry and started abusing him.In a fit of rage, Gupta picked up a large clay lamp from his cart and hit Tiwari on the head, injuring him. Hearing the commotion, shop owner Nikhil Budhrani rushed to the spot, but Gupta’s associates, Krishna Gupta and Rahul Gupta, also arrived and allegedly assaulted Budhrani with punches and verbally abused him.Following the incident, Tiwari filed a complaint at the Ulhasnagar Police Station. Police have registered a case against all three accused for assault and verbal abuse.Police officials said that Tiwari was treated at a hospital and later discharged. Santosh Avhad, senior police inspector of Ulhasnagar police station said, "The accused have been issued notices and further investigation is underway".
