Four maintenance staffers and two others were arrested on Saturday for allegedly assaulting some residents of Aashiana Aangan and MVL housing societies in Rajasthan’s Bhiwadi, police said.

The arrested individuals include: Sandeep (30), Manoranjan Kumar (39), Karmveer (35) and Vijay Dayma (23), linked to the main altercation at Aashiana Aangan Society, while two others, Surendra alias Lala (33) and Virendra alias Arvind (41), were taken into custody for their alleged involvement in a separate assault outside MVL Society three days earlier.

The arrests were made after a video of the violent clash between residents and maintenance staff was widely circulated on social media.

Speaking to the media, Bhiwadi Additional SP Atul Sahu said strong action would be taken against those who try to take the law into their own hands. “No one will be spared. The law will take its course,” he said.

As a public warning, the police organised a foot march with the accused, parading them through the area where the incident had taken place. Several accused were seen limping during the procession, drawing the attention of bystanders.

The violence reportedly broke out when bouncers, allegedly linked to the societies' maintenance teams, confronted and assaulted residents, including members of the society committees. The clash occurred on a public road and lasted for several hours leaving at least three to four people injured.

According to police, the situation escalated quickly and police had to deploy teams from multiple stations including DST, Phoolbagh, Chopanki and Phase 3, along with Quick Response Team (QRT) personnel.

DSP Kailash Choudhary, along with DST in-charge Sachin, arrived at the scene to manage the situation and restore order. Police teams worked to disperse the crowd and ensured the safe return of elderly residents and women to their homes.

The incident is currently under investigation, with authorities reviewing video footage to identify additional individuals involved in the clash. Officials have indicated that more arrests may follow based on the findings.
