Malaika Arora and Arbaaz Khan's divorce was one of the most shocking splits of Bollywood. In 1998, Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora got married, and at the time, she was around 25 years old. In 2002, four years into their marriage, they welcomed their son, Arhaan Khan.
The couple announced their split in 2016 after eighteen years of marriage, and they finalized their divorce in 2017. The ex-couple also has a son, Arhaan Khan, and it wasn't easy to co-parent him amid the turbulent relationship. Speaking on the subject of co-parenting while dealing with the ups and downs of her relationship with Arbaaz, Malaika, in an interview with Pinkvilla, shared, "It has its challenges, for sure.
It’s very important to find that balance. I cannot sit down here and say that it’s the easiest thing on planet Earth. It isn’t. Every day, through co-parenting, you have to constantly try to navigate. But after all these years, we have found a good balance.

Setting Boundaries With Arhaan
Speaking further, Malaika revealed how co-parenting has evolved now that Arhaan is an adult. "Arhaan is now a grown-up. He is 22 years old. Bachcha thodi hai. Things he needs to come and speak to his mother, he knows.
Things he wants to address with his father, he will address with his father. So wo ek situation ban gaya hai. It’s very clear; we have these boundaries, and that’s how it is."“It’s hard. Nothing in life is easy. Sabke bohot saare opinions aate hai (on how one should live). But I think relationships are very fragile sometimes. Of course, I would have loved for my marriage to be forever. But voh hua nahi. That doesn’t mean I’ve lost faith in love. That doesn’t mean that what I’ve done was a huge mistake or that I could have changed the course of my life," she shared.
