Man arrested for cheating woman of ₹10.6 lakh, 190g gold on promise of ₹2.8 crore loan

A 30-year-old man was arrested by the Hyderbad police on charges of cheating a woman of over ₹10 lakh and gold jewellery by falsely promising to arrange a bank loan of ₹2.8 crore on Friday (Match 6, 2026). The accused was identified as Turikepalli Bharath Sai Chandra.

The arrest follows a case registered on March 2 following a complaint by Rakhi Jain, a resident of D.V. Colony in Hyderabad. In her complaint, she alleged that the accused had promised to arrange a loan of ₹2.8 crore by claiming to be an employee of IDFC Bank’s Jubilee Town branch.
