The co-accused in the planting of a camera inside a bathroom at the women’s hostel of TATA Electronics was picked up by the Krishnagiri district police in Delhi and brought to Krishnagiri on Friday. The accused Ravi Prathap Singh (29), (not Rajvir Singh as erroneously mentioned in previous reports), is a native of Punjab.

Superintendent of Police P. Thangadurai told The Hindu, the accused is being interrogated and will be produced before the jurisdictional magistrate for remand.

A search for Ravi Prathap Singh, the male friend of the accused Neelu Kumari Gupta (22) who allegedly placed the camera inside the bathroom of a co-worker last Sunday, was launched based on her statement. The camera’s discovery triggered shock, leading to protests and the arrest of Ms.Gupta.

According to police, she told them she was induced into the crime by Ravi Prathap Singh, with the promise of making money.
