Man bludgeoned to death by wife and lover

A 40-year-old man was found murdered at his residence in Kodandaram Nagar, Saroornagar, on Friday (August 29).

The victim, identified as J. Shekhar is suspected to have been bludgeoned to death with a blunt object.

Police have detained his wife, Chitti, 33.

An officer from the Saroor Nagar police said the couple frequently quarrelled over Chitti’s alleged affair with a local youth, Harish. “The case came to light when Chitti called Dial 100 claiming her husband had died in his sleep. However, inconsistencies in her statements led to sustained questioning, during which she admitted to killing Shekhar,” said the officer.

Police said that on the night of August 28, after Shekhar went to bed, Chitti invited Harish to the house. Together, they attacked Shekhar.
