The Vidhana Soudha police on Saturday registered a case against a man from Mandya for allegedly harassing the Under Secretary of the Department of Personal Administration and Reforms, demanding a first divisional assistant (FDA) post on compassionate grounds.

Based on a complaint Ajay Dutta M.N. has been booked for criminal intimidation.

According to the complaint, the father of the accused, who was a police constable working at K.R. Sagar police station, died on duty in May 2018. As per the rules, the accused had applied for a government job on compassionate grounds in May 2019.

The DPAR, considering his application, verified his qualifications and offered him a second divisional assistant (SDA) post under group C as he had not completed his graduation. However, the accused started insisting that he wanted the FDA post and allegedly spammed the Under Secretary in this regard.
