A motorist faced serious problems after refueling his car at a fuel station in Telangana’s Rangareddy district.
The vehicle reportedly broke down the very next day, prompting the owner to seek help from a local mechanic.
During inspection, the mechanic discovered traces of water mixed with petrol, which had severely damaged the car’s engine.
The owner, accompanied by locals, confronted the staff at the petrol pump and presented a bottle containing the adulterated fuel as evidence.
Residents claimed this was not an isolated case and said several motorists had previously reported similar issues at the same outlet.
Anger grew in the area as locals accused the refilling station of repeatedly supplying poor-quality petrol and neglecting customer complaints. They demanded that officials intervene and prevent further incidents.
Authorities have been urged to investigate the matter and take strict action against the outlet if malpractice is confirmed.
Locals also stressed the need for regular checks at fuel stations to ensure customers are not cheated and vehicles are not put at risk.
