Man dies after falling between platform and Goa-bound Express train at Secunderabad Station

A 28-year-old man from Warangal died after falling while attempting to board a moving train at Secunderabad Railway Station on Friday (June 6, 2025) morning. The incident occurred around 10.30 a.m. on platform number nine, said an officer from the Government Railway Police (GRP), Secunderabad.

“The deceased, identified as Vurugonda Sai, a resident of Kareemabad in Warangal, was travelling with his wife, brother and three friends,” said the officer. The group had reservation in coach S4 of Vasco-Da-Gama Express (Train No. 17039) bound for Goa .

“As per preliminary enquiry, Sai was seen boarding and deboarding the train multiple times before he slipped and fell into the gap between the platform and the moving train. He sustained grievous injuries in the fall and was rushed to a nearby private hospital,” added the officer.

Despite medical attention, Sai succumbed to injuries at 12.23 p.m., less than two hours after the fall. His wife, Battula Maduri, lodged a complaint. Police have ruled out foul play. A case was registered and further enquiries are underway.
