Man Driving Car With UP Govt Sticker Held For Molesting Woman In Hardoi

A man was arrested in Hardoi after allegedly molesting a woman at the Roadways bus stand using a car with a Uttar Pradesh Shasan sticker.

In a shocking incident, a man driving a car with a “Uttar Pradesh Shasan" (UP Government) sticker on it was arrested after he allegedly molested a woman waiting for her husband at the Roadways bus stand in Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi.

The incident took place on Saturday when the accused, identified as Aadesh Mishra, a resident of Kaushalpuri locality, allegedly approached the woman, offered her money, and tried to force her into his car, India Today reported.

Local residents intervened after the woman raised an alarm, following which police detained Mishra along with the car.

According to police, the woman, a native of Baghauli area, had come to visit her sister in the city and was waiting at the bus stand to return home. The accused reportedly stopped his car near her, made obscene remarks, and offered her Rs 1,000 to accompany him. When she resisted, he allegedly tried to drag her into the car.

Hearing her cries, people nearby rushed to help and surrounded the vehicle. The woman’s husband, who arrived soon after, also confronted the accused. Police reached the spot after being alerted through Dial 112 and took Mishra into custody.

City Circle Officer Ankit Mishra said, “A case has been registered under relevant sections on the woman’s complaint. The accused has been arrested, and further legal action is being taken."

Preliminary investigation revealed that although the car bore a government sticker, it was privately owned. The accused reportedly works as a driver for a government officer.

Police said the accused is being interrogated and assured that strict action will be taken based on the investigation’s findings.
