Man found dead, his wife among four booked

A 45-year-old man was found dead in an agriculture field at Baradapur village in Aurad taluk of Bidar district on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Marutigonda Tippagonda Eske.

The victim’s son Arjun Gonda has accused his step-mother and her family members of pushing his father to the extreme step and Chintaki Police, who registered a case, have begun investigation.

In his complaint, Arjun has stated that his father married thrice. After his first two wives left him, he married Mallamma with whom he had two children. He said that Mallamma and her parents Lakshmibai and Vithalgonda frequently quarrelled with his father and subjected him to continuous mental harassment.

In the complaint, Arjun said that the accused used to mix poison in his father’s food which made him seriously ill. Unable to bear the prolonged harassment and deteriorating health, Marutigonda Eske reportedly took the extreme step.

The police have booked Mallamma, her parents Lakshmibai and Vithalgonda and a relative for abetment to suicide.

Investigation is in progress.
