Man gets 20 years jail in POCSO case

A special POCSO court in Chittoor on Monday (October 13, 2025) sentenced one P. Prasad (23), of Basinikonda village of Madanapalle division in Annamayya district, to 20 years in jail for sexually assaulting a minor girl in 2021. The incident was reported on March 3, 2021, after Prasad abducted and assaulted the minor girl, having lured her on the pretext of getting her some eatables. Following a complaint from the victim’s mother, Madanapalle Taluk police registered a case under the POCSO Act. After a four-year trial, Judge M. Shankar Rao found the accused guilty and pronounced the verdict.
