Man held with suspected MDMA, ecstasy pills in Kochi

Three weeks after eight youths were arrested from a star hotel at Kadavanthra here with different types of suspected synthetic drugs, the Kochi City police on Friday tracked down a 42-year-old man who allegedly supplied the narcotic substances to the gang.

Kevin B. Mathew, the alleged drug peddler, was arrested by the District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (DANSAF) near his rented house at Vazhakkala. The police seized 183.55 grams of suspected MDMA and 93.51 grams of suspected ecstasy pills from him. A sum of ₹1 lakh, allegedly gained through drug sales, was also seized from the accused, the police said on Friday.
