In a bizarre twist, a police raid in Juhapura’s Safal Residency exposed a massive liquor racket — with a shocking family link. The infamous bootlegger Naseem Appa, long known for her illegal liquor trade, is once again on the police radar after officers seized 1,656 bottles of liquor and beer worth Rs 5.8 lakh.
According to police sources, the entire consignment was ordered by Naseem Appa’s son-in-law, Salman alias Pintu Pathan, from a Vatawa-based bootlegger. The bottles were meant for Naseem Appa’s operations, revealing how the family remained deeply involved in Gujarat’s underground liquor network.
Police Raid And Arrests
Acting on a tip-off, a team led by Police Inspector RS Parmar from Vejalpur Police Station conducted a raid at the Safal Residency plot. During the operation, police arrested Mahebub Qureshi, Huseinmiya Jammiayana, and Sahil Jammiayana, seizing the liquor stock from the premises.
Further interrogation revealed that Naseem Appa was the main beneficiary of the consignment. While the three accused have been detained, police teams are now on the lookout for Naseem Appa and her absconding son-in-law, believed to be key figures behind the racket.
Citywide Crackdown On Bootleggers
The Vejalpur raid is part of a larger crackdown across Ahmedabad, where police have been seizing liquor worth lakhs from various localities despite Gujarat’s prohibition laws. Multiple special teams are currently working to nab the absconding accused.
Officials say more revelations are likely once Naseem Appa and her son-in-law are arrested — possibly exposing a deeper bootlegging network operating under the guise of family links.
