Man sentenced to life for raping minor girl

Kanpur: Special judge Pocso Act court on Monday convicted a man for raping a seven-year-old girl and sentenced him to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 2 lakhs. The incident took place in 2023.According to special prosecutor Chandra Kant Sharma, the girl’s mother in her complaint said that on Nov 2, 2023, her minor daughter along with other girls had gone to a park to play.The accused, who was present there, sent back the others and detained her daughter, and raped her.She alleged that when the girls narrated the incident to her, she rushed to the spot where the accused thrashed her.The prosecution six witnesses in the case.The judge, Pawan Kumar Rai, in his order said that the fine amount be given to the survivor for her rehabilitation.
