Man who went out to buy dinner killed in road accident

A man was killed in a road accident while trying to cross the Tiruchi- Thanjavur National Highway on Friday.

R. Robert, 70, left his house to buy dinner and attempted to cross the highway on foot, when S. Anand, a motorist, collided into him. Robert was immediately rushed to a private hospital nearby where he was declared dead on arrival, the police said. The accused was taken to the same hospital for treatment on account of sustaining injuries on his face and arms.

Thiruverumbur police have registered a case.
