Bus services under the KSRTC Mandya division were affected after employees launched an indefinite strike, with only a few of the 529 buses operating across 496 routes until Tuesday evening. However, normalcy gradually returned after the Joint Action Committee of the employees announced the withdrawal of the strike.

In the meantime, private buses plied, facilitating the stranded passengers with the KSRTC buses off the roads.

Mandya Deputy Commissioner Kumar, who visited the city bus stand earlier in the day along with Superintendent of Police Mallikarjuna Baladandi, held a meeting with officials to discuss the strike and chalk out alternative travel arrangements for the passengers.

The DC said that discussions were held with private bus operators, maxi cab owners, and auto drivers to ensure uninterrupted transportation for the public. Following this, the district administration arranged 215 private buses, 272 mini-buses, and 666 maxi cabs to supplement the halted KSRTC services.

Private operators were instructed to strictly adhere to KSRTC fare structures, with a clear warning not to overcharge commuters.

With the strike now put off, commuters breathed a sigh of relief. KSRTC officials confirmed that full services on all routes will resume from Wednesday morning.

KSRTC District Controller Nagaraju, Regional Transport Officer Hemavati, and other officials were present during the meeting with the Deputy Commissioner.
