The Manipur police in coordination with CAPF and Army recovered 328 guns in raids on the outskirts of five Valley district on Saturday (June 14, 2025).
The recoveries include six AK serries of rifles, 151 SLRs, 65 INSAS, mortar, pistols, carbines and more than 5,000 rounds of ammunition.
A police official also said that the recoveries include looted police weapons.
Since the ethnic violence erupted in Manipur on May 3, 2023, around 6,000 weapons and lakhs of ammunitions were looted from police armouries.
The Manipur Police reiterated its commitment to a peaceful and secure Manipur. The public is urged to cooperate with police and security forces and report any suspicious activities or information related to illegal weapons to the nearest police station or Central Control Room.
Senior police officials are in close coordination with all security stakeholders to ensure that such operations continue in a sustained and focused manner to restore normalcy, maintain public order, and ensure the safety and security of citizens and their properties.
