Tribal enthusiasm surges as Tripura CM kicks off TTAADC campaign; Public's desire for empowerment takes center stage

Agartala: Tripura CM Manik Saha on Wednesday launched the campaign for the upcoming elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).He led a major roadshow at Khumulwng, the ADC headquarters, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from tribal communities.

Under the banner “Empowering Janajati, Empowering Tripura”, the event drew large crowds. The CM said the turnout reflected the public’s growing desire for a more empowered and progressive Tripura. He emphasised that the enthusiasm, particularly from tribal communities, underscored their strong support for initiatives focused on development and inclusive governance.Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury joined the CM in the roadshow, which also saw the presence of senior tribal leaders and party officials, reinforcing the outreach effort.

As the procession moved through Khumulwng, it became a lively display of support, with party workers, tribal leaders, and residents waving flags and greeting the leaders.Political observers view the roadshow as part of the BJP’s strategy to strengthen its base in tribal regions ahead of the crucial TTAADC elections, where issues of empowerment, welfare, and development are expected to dominate.Given Khumulwng’s role as the administrative hub of the TTAADC, the high turnout is seen as a strong signal of the party’s commitment to engaging with indigenous communities.Leaders at the event reaffirmed their dedication to accelerating development in tribal areas and enhancing welfare, stressing that empowering Janajati communities is key to building a prosperous and united Tripura.
