Washington Commanders cornerback Marshon Lattimore gave a promising report this week at mandatory minicamp, saying he is completely recovered from the hamstring ailment that held him back last season.

Marshon Lattimore, brought in via a blockbuster trade with the New Orleans Saints, was confident in stating he was ready and reiterated his commitment to proving the Commanders' belief in him.

The Washington Commanders got some welcome news at their latest minicamp when veteran cornerback Marshon Lattimore validated that he is fully healthy once again. Marshon Lattimore, who struggled with an ongoing hamstring issue a year ago after coming back to the team from the New Orleans Saints, moved with ease and quickness during drills, evidence the team's investment in him could be reaping benefits. "I just wanted to prove that they made the right decision," Marshon Lattimore explained at a media session on Wednesday, as quoted by team insider Zach Selby.

The Commanders acquired Lattimore last season in a high-profile trade, parting with multiple draft picks to secure the four-time Pro Bowler. However, his debut in Washington was marred by injury setbacks. Now, with a full offseason of conditioning and rehab behind him, Lattimore reports feeling like himself again.

"Just the burst, just getting all my breaks," he said. "I was dealing with a hamstring, and that takes a lot out of you. It takes a long time to heal. I was just trying to battle through that, but now, since I got a full offseason, I feel explosive." Lattimore is not seeking sympathy. He has made it clear he expects to play at the high level that once established him as a cornerstone of the New Orleans Saints defense. Commanders head coach Dan Quinn and general manager Adam Peters have all offseason echoed that sentiment, hyping Lattimore's return as a potential game-changer for their defense. Washington didn't finish with Lattimore in shoring up their secondary. They signed veteran corner Jonathan Jones and took Trey Amos in the second round of the NFL Draft.
